Think of a child gifted in Music but studying Engineering to appease his parents 'cause they think Arts is not the way to success. What if Mozart's mom thought similarly?

One thing I like about US is the greater degree of individual freedom allowed here. I know a scientist who wants to graduate from Berklee College of Music. And I, currently a Business major, dream of a degree in Contemporary Literature some day. No matter how long it takes. :)Aparna Gangulyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08145595106647499958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12934803.post-80929923952551923392008-06-15T21:54:00.000-07:002008-06-15T21:54:00.000-07:00that's one of my fav posts of urs..as usual can id...that's one of my fav posts of urs..as usual can identify so much, these 2 opposing sides of life are scary, as u said ur n maybe a lot of females' 2 sides..sejutihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15354987939644611777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12934803.post-14922623253559047172008-06-14T21:31:00.000-07:002008-06-14T21:31:00.000-07:00@adityaThank you so much ! Women like Aditi or the ones like Ari. I'm a pseudo-feminist. I say so because I believe in the financial independence of women, but I still believe that you need someone who enriches you emotionally by his/her mere presence. Someone to love.

Happiness is a complex psychological state an doften irrational. You might be at the worst phase of you life- struggling, trying to make ends meet and yet you might be content that you are doing it all for a good reason. Yet, someone who has everything- who had channelized his/her energy and focused his/her existence into achieving something might feel that it has been a Pyrrhic victory. On the verge of insanity (owing to extreme obsession) he/she might feel - it was not worth it !

It all depends on the trade-off. What cost you are paying for what. For some women (as well as men) - being single is better off than being in a bad relation. I agree- 'cause I don't want the other person to suffer too. But sometimes, I also feel that no relation is born perfect- you breed it to be so. You nourish it, make genuine efforts to fill it with discrete moments of unadulterated joy - which truly makes it amazing. Be it the fishing trips you had with your Dad on lazy Sunday afternoons, your favorite pudding your mom made just for you, or the shawl you shared with your beloved on a chilly evening while walking down the street- the medium can be many and the moment may be ephemeral. It is the feeling that lasts. And makes you believe that- no matter what hard times do to you- these are some things you really want to treasure- forever.Aparna Gangulyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08145595106647499958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12934803.post-44204191333577630262008-06-07T11:35:00.000-07:002008-06-07T11:35:00.000-07:00@candid diaryThank you for your generous complimen...@candid diary
Thank you for your generous compliments. Thank God, I'm less dramatic now :D Someone gave me a golden piece of advice once, "Observe people, you will write better."

I was surprised to learn how some great creators have been inspired by life. If you are an Tintinologist you will know that Herge drew inspiration for his characters from real people. In fact, Tintin in Tibet, which is my personal favorite, was etched from the disappearance of his friend Chang Chong-chen , whom he corresponded with after 40 years, always believing he is still alive!

Let's say- I'm waiting to be inspired. The more I see , the more I believe there is to be seen.Aparna Gangulyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08145595106647499958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12934803.post-88842775262041093372008-06-06T11:06:00.000-07:002008-06-06T11:06:00.000-07:00Good job ! I could completely connect with the contradictions that often go on in a woman's mind: to yield to the circumstances or to listen to conscience.
