A lesson learnt -II

It was a hot afternoon, and I was walking down my university lane when I heard someone playing a saxophone. Curious, I took a detour to my left and discovered the source. A man was sweating profusely in the summer sun and in his heavy uniform, sitting and practicing inside an empty university shuttle.

He stopped when he saw me and struck a conversation; said that he plays the alto in choirs (probably as a second job). He played for me for a while before I hurried to be on my way again. He bade me goodbye saying : I'm so glad to meet you. I smiled: So am I.

When you want to do something, you have to create time for it.

I repeat myself: life's lessons are learned in the most unlikely places.

Sweet...
like a scene 4rm a hearty o'l movie.
i believe music is a language spoken in mystery that when understood can make humans of people :-)

dats was almost out of a movie... and can actually be teh start of a well-told story!! :)
and then its true..... if you love something dearly... and are passionate about you'll go to any extent to find soem time for it!!! :)

Since the saxophone music attracted you the man, unlike W. Helland playing his ORSI Eb contrabass saxophone, was not playing an ismall one and the music produced by the man was not weird like the one in the link.
But jokes apart, I salute the passion of that man inside the empty university shuttle.
Be yourself and enjoy life :D

.. :) aare it was me.. my future..

-the pure ecstasy in shaking my wind pipe is like a turbulent twister ripping off the wilderness within me and i lay myself in the most pure earthy state of "being" and "happiness". :)

@sangram
I didn't know you could play wind instruments too. :)

Btw, passion in any culminating point is pure bliss. Writers have become one with the characters they have created, artists have blended reality in the colors they have painted, musicians have forgotten their selves in the symphonies they have produced. It is like a prayer- where the creator and the creation becomes one. I guess that is what you are referring to :)

@ILA
Was I supposed to be scared of something? I guess I'm plain dumb- can't identify a threat when I see one. Or my desire to taste life in its every flavor overpowers my fear :)

OMG ! That's meant for a Titan !
Someone once said that Hell is a congregation of amateur musicians :D
Btw, check out this I don't care what he did to that intern, that man has some charisma.

I tried blowing into a sax- it's tough. And I thought I had a good lung capacity !

@Sam
By corollary - when you believe you want something, you will do anything/go anywhere to achieve. Conversely, when you don't want something- you'll create hundred excuses to not do it.

Btw, I 'll keep the opening sequence in mind :)

Well said. "Music has charms to soothe the savage breast, to soften rocks or bend a knotted oak. "

I saw the video earlier when I had been searching for ‘saxophone’ in youtube after reading your post about your yearning to learn saxophone. Thanx, anyways.
After seeing the entire racket around Clinton one may think that he was getting all the attention due to his political position but he was a musician. In his school days Clinton played the tenor saxophone, winning first chair in the state band's saxophone section.
Now, imagine our Lalu Prasad playing a sitar and Haradanahalli Doddegowda Deve Gowda and his son accompanying Laluji in Nadaswaram. Also imagine our firebrand Didi Mamata Banerjee adding (con)fusion music with a bass guitar (I hope the instrument suits her). Cute picture, it will be.

I agree ... we often make excuses with our busy lives then and time just withers away. If we like something, we should find time for it :)

You can't simply put everything in schedule.....
There are certain things in life which come up unexpectedly with a breeze...if u can't take out time for those moments...you simply loose the fun...

God, almighty...

I bumped in your blog again....

What could be the reason that we're not in touch anymore....

The friendship that was waiting to blossom, seems like crushed...
