The Secret

I was semi-consciously humming a song I used to sing in the school choir:
Make me a channel of Your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me bring Your love,
Where there is injury , your pardon Lord,
And when there’s doubt, true faith in You.

O Master , Grant that I may never seek
So much to be consoled as to console
To be understood as to understand
To be loved as to love with all my soul.

It’s strange how the greatest lessons of life are taught in the very beginning of our journey but somehow during the course of time, we tend to forget them. I was thinking of the times I had let clouds of doubt shadow my reason- when I was afraid to ask because I thought I might not receive.

Seek and Thou shall find. But I was scared to seek even. What if it ended in a big disappointment? What if…? And the big question mark intimidated me. Kept me from trying my best. When you start questioning too much, you forget to be happy. I am not asking you to lead life with complete abandonment. But sometimes, faith is all you need to have.

It could be anything- a well deserved promotion, the love of your life, a project you have been longing to take off the ground- anything at all. Believe it with all your heart , and you will have it. Some might label it as pseudoscience; but trust me- it has happened - many times more than it can be labeled as mere coincidence.

Rhonda Byrne in her bestseller, ”The Secret”, quotes Michael Bernard Beckwith saying that : "Creation is always happening. Every time an individual has a thought , or a prolonged chronic way of thinking, they’re in the creation process. Something is going to manifest out of those thoughts. " ... and that is exactly why it is important to concentrate on what you want, instead of what you do not want.

Be true to the dreams of your youth. You, as a kid, knew much more about yourself than you know now with all your worldly knowledge. Trust yourself like a child would in its ability to explore its world. Even if the dark old basement was scary, you always managed to find your favorite ball that got lost in it- didn’t you?
Try again. Don’t give up on yourself. You deserve happiness. Maybe even more than you think you do.

If you have faith... it does happen ... Very true.. And it happens even in the most subtle of the situations.. like when you are playing pool, you know the shot you take will pot the ball.. no need to aim.. no need to concentrate.. you have a feeling it will go.. or in an exam you need a question for which you can write an answer and there it is...
Reading your post i remembered the time when me and my friends were working on a project which wasnt turning out good.. and one of my friend said "Have faith.. In the end it will be alright" and it did.. we had the best time working on it...

btw.. my compliments on your writing.. very good...

a series of thoughts..

did u also have
1.it takes courage to answer a call
2.There is my neighbor so lone and forgotten
and two more that don't strike me now, besides these the we had a school chorus i loved "hail to our happy school days"..

if it weren't for hopes hearts would break, its the abysmal limits that we can reach..life would have been so shallow..

as usual loved this piece.

You really know how to hit the sweet spot (in cricket lingo). We should understand the difference between having "faith on destiny/higher power" or on "yourself & nobody else"-actually, if you consider the higher power to be "inside you" & a "guiding light" you will find that this positive thought(faith) would induce positive feelings resulting in positive results. Thus in this condition you'll be winner anyway !

'Ask and it shall be given you; seek and you shall find it; knock and it shall be opened unto you', ..this has it all...all that we ever could think of or imagine....all our lives, each and every aspect, revolve around these words of eternity. And, the fools that we're, we forget this truth at almost all times in our lives but then some event, or maybe a series of events, brings it back to our remembrance.
Knowledge is good but when it limits our thoughts, our ability to see beyond what it shows, then it should be unlearned. So as we grow older we tend to only increase this knowledge, primarily consisting of facts and figures, that defines our present state and not, in many cases, what can be done and achieved. This is where we must regain our 'childhood' - the state of unchained imaginations and thoughts driven by faith (and innocence).
Who says we can't be happy?..we do because we are have become too complicated - lost our innocence, because we can't think straight and simple; and neither do we want to inculcate and promote this kind of thinking in our near and dear ones.
It's time for us to look at ourselves, we havent been doing that for quite a while now, and spend sometime with ourselves dispelling all notions of impossibilty because 'If ye have faith nothing shall be impossible unto you'.

Great post. Right said - we are taught the most important lessons early on in life but we get so involved in our daily routines that we tend forget them. Its during moments of confusion and times of self-evaluation that these gems from the past show us the way... & faith in the self emerges as our greatest strength
